being delegated dotBrands. A dotBrand is a closed TLD, usually a registered trademark, that restricts registrations to the company who owns it. Roughly 45% of dotBrands are being actively used for public-facing websites. Major brands—from Google (.google) to Barclays (.barclays) to Audi (.audi)—are using their proprietary namespace for marketing, security, and infrastructure advantages.
